After 30+ years of ministry, we are absolutely convinced that the greatest need in missions is intercessory prayer. Therefore, we want to list the different publishing projects with which we are involved so that specific prayer can be made for each one.

These publications are not random, rather each one is strategically published to meet a specific need in each country and people.

Please pray specifically for each publication and along with us, trust the Lord to provide for each one and use them in a mighty way.
Many of the churches we have been in contact with in Burma and Thailand are doctrinally weak. Many of the people we have talked to in the churches do not know anything of a personal relationship with Christ. Yet many western mission groups consider these people to be "reached."

BURMESE

Bible - Burmese
Description:

Adoniram's translation of the Burmese Bible is being retypeset and put back into print.

Progress:

John/Romans is finished. 430,000 have been printed in the USA and 16,000 have been printed in Burma.

New Testament - Layout is being done now.

Whole Bible - will be worked on after completion of the New Testament.

Needs:

Funds have been given to retypeset the New Testament. We are not sure yet what will be needed for the whole Bible project.

ABC's of Christian Growth - Burmese
Description:

Proven doctrinal and practical lessons to help disciple new Christians and refresh older saints. Being translated by permission of Bible Baptist Church Publications in Oak Harbor, WA.

A Ship Called Grace - Burmese
Description:
This 80 page illustrated book was actually written by Adoniram Judson as a parable or story to introduce Christ to the Burmese people. In the mid 1970’s a small publisher in Yangon (capitol of Myanmar, formerly called Rangoon) had the book illustrated. They printed it one time and then it went out of print. Every Burmese who has seen this book says it is a great tool to help the Buddhist people understand the Gospel.

Progress:
A graphics artist in the USA has cleaned up the artwork and we are in the process of creating computer-generated text and bubbles in Burmese we are pasting text into the bubbles now. In addition, it is now being translated into Sgaw Karen, Pwo Karen and English.

Funds for the translations have been provided.

Scriptures: In Laos a small team, led by an American missionary, has been translating the Bible for the last several years using the KJV for a basis of the translation. The entire New Testament is done but undergoing revision and proofing. The other portions listed here have been printed on copy machines and distributed on a small scale in country.

A large-scale printing is needed of each. Commercial printing prices in Asia are given for each.

We have teamed up with another missionary, Jeff Lange, and hired a translator who is working exclusively on this project. He has been on it full-time for 10 months and we expect him to require 8 at least 6 more months to complete this work. We have spent over $5,300 at least $6,000 so far.

We have had it looked at by several pastors and they all say there is nothing else like it in Thai. A Christian proofreader took it to a Christian University and showed it to professors who teach doctrinal classes. They expressed great interest in using it for teaching even though it is unapologetically historic Baptist in its teaching. They said that they had Systematic Theology books but nothing as thorough as this material.
