Gaudet Family Update – Haiti Disaster

January 14 | Posted by Tom Gaudet | Gaudet Family Updates Tags:

Dear Brethren,

Since we have been involved in situations like this in the past, several have contacted us about it already. We are seeking the Lord for wisdom about how to help these dear people in the aftermath of this horrible earthquake.

However, a long-time friend, Keith Davidson of Seedline International has just sent the following information concerning something they are doing now about it. I just talked to Bro. Davidson and all of the info following is current as of this evening, Thursday, January 14, 2010. I have edited his original post to match what he told me by phone.

Please pray for the people of Haiti who have suffered so much. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. They certainly are not prepared for a disaster like this. Missionaries have been working there for many years and we should be asking our Lord now to use them in the aftermath to point many to the Saviour. Each one of us should be asking our Lord now, “What can we do to help?” Many already are.

Here is the info from Bro. Davidson:
____________

In light of the recent earthquake in the city of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Seedline International stands poised to send relief to this devastated region. We are raising funds to send a container of 30,000 lbs. of food and 14,000 lbs. of Scripture as soon as next week.

I am just as torn as I am sure that you are between having a desire to help my fellowman and wanting to be sure that my “help” gets to the people in the streets who need it most.

The container that we send will be handled by American missionary, Rodney Fitzsimmons. He and his wife have served in Haiti for more than 20 years so they have established contacts. The distribution of relief supplies will be controlled through these contacts in local area churches and orphanages.

The cost of sending this container is approximately $12,000. At present, we have approximately $6,500 promised. If you would like to help fund this relief project to Haiti, please send your gifts to:
