Gaudet Family Update – October 2, 2010

October 2 | Posted by Tom Gaudet | Gaudet Family Updates Tags:

Greetings Brethren,

Several of our co-workers are fighting sickness. A Dr. told one of them that he is seeing many cases influenza, including Swine flu. Please pray for them.

On the days everyone is here, we now have 11 people in the office! With all the languages spoken by our co-workers as well as the many languages dealt with on a daily basis on the computers it is a real tower of Babel experience!

Many projects are being worked on simultaneously, interacting with translators via phone, personal visits, and e-mail. Several projects are at press now in the USA as well as in Burma, Thailand, India, and Vietnam. We are also dealing with printers in several other countries at the same time.

On this open communication we are not able to tell you everything that we would like concerning specific languages and strategic placement of materials. Just know this, we are dependent upon your intercession!
I am scheduled to be in the USA from 16Oct-16Nov. That means I have just two weeks. Much needs to be done before then including finishing a video update concerning the work here. More strategic shipping of literature needs to take place in these next few weeks. Please pray for these preparations.

The longer we are involved in this work, the more convinced we are of the need. This past week, we sent files for Bible Studies in the Karen language to brethren in the USA who are directly working with Karen refugees who are in their cities. We also sent completed files of doctrinal studies in Burmese to be used in training preachers. We printed copies of a doctrinal book published here in the Kachin language for leaders from Burma who are in the city now. They will be able to take these copies back to Burma with them.

On a daily basis I meet with men in the mornings for study and prayer. It is a blessing to use the same doctrinally-sound materials in three languages with the men who are studying. So much more needs to be done to get sound literature and Scripture to many peoples in the region. The needs are great. Please pray.

For Souls Still Waiting,

Tom and Krinny Gaudet
