Gaudet Family Update – Prayer Requested for Co-Worker

In our last update, we mentioned some of our co-workers experiencing among other things, health issues. One of them returned from Bangkok on Friday after an overnight bus trip. He and his wife have been granted Refugee status by the UNHCR and this was part of that process. They were given immunizations in preparation for being relocated to another country. He began having pain in his arm where one of the injections was made. Fever followed, and we ended up taking him to the hospital for an exam. The Dr. said he had an infection at the injection site and immediately gave him an IV drip with antibiotics.
To make a long story short, he went back on Saturday as per instructions and had another IV. Today, still running a fever, he returned and they admitted him. They were fearful that an abscess had formed so did several tests to determine if a surgery was needed. At this point he has been told that he will be in the hospital for at least 3-5 days with constant monitoring and medication.
Please be in prayer that this treatment will stop the infection and he will be able to fully recover. This is a potentially very dangerous situation if not stopped. We trust it was caught in time.
Of course, since he is a refugee, no healthcare is available for him without payment. There is also no budget for something like this, and there was no time to consider cost when we urged him to do what the Dr. insisted on. Please pray. Our Lord is faithful.
It is such a blessing to know that so many of you stand with us in prayer. Thank you.
For Souls Still Waiting,
Tom and Krinny Gaudet |
