We wish to ask prayer for an upcoming survey trip. This is to look into a potential outreach during the upcoming Asian Games in Incheon, Korea, September, 2014. I have tickets booked now for a survey trip to the area.

This survey trip is scheduled for Nov 26-Dec 2. Two pastors from the USA and I will meet in Incheon on the 28th. Together we will meet brethren and look the situation over to begin guaging the possiblities for an outreach during the games.

Frankly, this is not a good time for me to be making this trip, financially as well as every other way. The flight is not cheap nor is lodging in Korea. The same could be said about the two pastors coming from the USA. However, things like this always require a huge amount of planning and preparation and time is of the essence.

Three years is certainly not too soon to begin work on an outreach of this type. We have done it the other way all too many times; getting there just as things start up, too late to really make a difference. It is time to see that changed. Please pray about this trip; again Nov 26-Dec 2. Pray that we would be able to meet the right people and quickly focus on the most strategic things.

The last outreach of this type we were involved in was in Busan, Korea in 2002. There seems to be a significant interest in an outreach such as this from some churches in the USA. Partnership is what this is all about. Without it both from stateside churches as well as Korean Christians this will all come to naught.

Many of you also know of our oft-expressed desire to see North Koreans hear the Gospel. On this trip I plan to also follow up on some possible opportunities to that end. Nothing much more will be said about this, but please pray!
