New Year Greetings

Our family wishes you and yours a happy and prosperous 2013! The future is as bright as the promises of God. One thing we know for sure, we are closer than ever to the sound of the trumpet, and the Voice saying “Come up Hither.” Keep looking up!
Thank you once again for your intercession and support of our family over the years. It has been an epic journey, and one we would not have wanted to undertake without you.

Gaudet Family Update – Merry Christmas!

December 31 | Posted by Tom Gaudet | Gaudet Family Updates Tags:
Merry Christmas from the Gaudet Family!

We hope each one of you enjoy time with family and friends today. It is the evening of Christmas day here in Thailand. Krinny and I enjoyed the day together at an elephant camp, where we had a buffet lunch of Thai food! Certainly non-traditional but then again, living in a Buddhist country, outside of Churches all observances of Christmas seem to be limited to decorations and music at shopping malls. Consumerism is the one part of Christmas we could do without for sure! Rarely do the malls miss an opportunty to have a sale.

We enjoyed a Christmas time party with our co-workers on Saturday. Several of them are traveling during the time off. Please pray for their safe return as we start again on the 4th of Jan, 2013.

At any rate, we trust your Christmas will be blessed as you celebrate the birth of our Savior. Let us focus on the Reason for the Season!

Brethren,

Thank you for praying for us. We are finally getting our days and nights sorted out. Our co-workers will meet on Saturday for a Christmas party and potluck. It will be interesting as usual with brethren from different ethnic groups and languages. A good portion of the next two weeks will be holiday time as the Christmas celebration stretches into New Year, a very important holiday to the Thai.

We wanted to send this link to you for our latest Prayer Letter. Please click and download here.

Gaudet Family Update – Arrival in Thailand

December 11 | Posted by Tom Gaudet | Gaudet Family Updates Tags:
Brethren,

We arrived safely in Thailand early in the morning on the 8th of December. Now we are trying to get settled back into the routine. It is a great blessing to see the work going forward and our co-workers faithfully laboring in our absence.

Please pray for us to be able to fully recover from the dreaded malady known as “Jet-lag.” It is usually somewhat of an inconvenience, but this time both of us are really almost sick with lack of sleep. We do appreciate your prayers on our behalf.

The next few months will be a great blessing as we will have three groups of visitors from the USA. It is always a thrill to introduce brethren to the work and laborers here. Please pray that each one will leave with a burden.

We appreciate each one of you who are involved with us in any way. Your intercession and support has made it possible for this work to continue. In fact, we cannot imagine it any other way.

Gaudet Family Update – Happy Thanksgiving!

November 26 | Posted by Tom Gaudet | Gaudet Family Updates Tags:
Brethren,

Our time here in the USA has just about drawn to a close. With our originally scheduled return date approaching, we tried to reschedule the trip for a couple of weeks longer to accommodate a couple of extra and rescheduled meetings. That proved to be impossible as all the seats are full already through the end of the year!

We are scheduled to depart on December 6. Of course that means we will be flat out until then. We appreciate your prayers as we prepare. Much remains to be done.

Please continue to pray for us and for our co-workers in Thailand. One of them just had a motorcycle accident a couple of days ago. He is stiff and sore but OK otherwise. His motorcycle is damaged quite a bit. Other of our co-workers have had various other trials over these past days.

The meetings we have been in while in the USA have been a great blessing. We are encouraged in that even in these uncertain days, so many churches remain faithful to the unfinished task of world missions.

On my last flight – from Seattle, only one seat remained empty. It was between me and a Buddhist monk from Thailand. That was an interesting flight! Only the Lord could work that out. Pray that we can stay in touch. He actually will be returning to Thailand about the time we do and will be in our city.

Krinny and I want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. We trust you will enjoy time with family and friends and celebrate the blessings of the Lord.

Gaudet Family Update – Focus on Burma, Misc

October 8 | Posted by Tom Gaudet | Gaudet Family Updates Tags:
Brethren,

It has been just over one month since we arrived in the USA. It has been a great blessing to catch up with so many friends while here. Of course the work continues full bore back in Thailand in our absence. Two weeks after we arrived in the USA, Carolyn Chambers flew back to Thailand. It is humbling working with many of our co-workers who give all to serve the Lord.

Krinny is holding down the fort in Fort Worth (pun intended). She is enjoying just being home. By this coming Sunday, I will have already been in 12 churches, reporting and presenting the work! Please pray for the travels and meetings. There is potential for new and increased financial and prayer support. All is greatly needed at this time.

We have just posted online a 3 page Focus on Burma which deals a bit with the current situation in the country and preparations we have made for the day that the country begins to opens up. The time to prepare is before a country opens. We find ourselves in the middle of all of the activity as many are now beginning to focus on the region and people at this point. We invite you to click here and prayerfully read the information on the PDF.

Also, we ask you to pray concerning an opportunity which is opening up now. We have been keenly aware of the need for evangelism with a people group from Burma which are mostly unreached; the Shan. They number over 4 million with around 100,000 inside Thailand. Christians number less than 1%. The Shan state of Burma borders Thailand, Laos, and China. The Shan are linguistically very close to Thai. They are also called Tai Luang, Tai Yai, and various other names.

We are in contact with a Shan man who is just moving to our city in Thailand. He comes from a doctrinally-sound church and has a burden to see his people evangelized. It would be possible to put him on staff and have him begin translating sound materials to reach these people. We need wisdom from the Lord about this as we are pretty well stretched already. Please pray with us about this. It is a great opportunity to make a difference with these unreached people.

We would not want to undertake ministry such as this without many interceding as you do. Please don’t stop.

Tom and Krinny Gaudet

Gaudet Family Update

September 12 | Posted by Tom Gaudet | Gaudet Family Updates Tags:

Brethren,

Krinny and I safely arrived in Texas and are recovering from the dreaded jet-lag. You would think it would be easier the more we do it but alas, it is not. It might have something to do with being older…

At any rate, we are visiting with our Church family and just generally enjoying being home. Our first meeting is on the 16th in Colorado.

For those of you who need to contact us here is a cellphone number we will use while in the USA. 817-262-9836. Of course, we can always be reached by e-mail.

Please pray for our travels, meetings in churches, and for our co-workers faithfully staying by the stuff in Thailand. Literally, just before we left, nearly 500 boxes of Burmese Scripture portions and Bibles went across the border. One of our co-workers made the 12 hour round trip to our distribution center and dealt with this, returning the morning of our departure. How we thank the Lord for these our co-workers.

Please pray also for Carolyn Chambers. She is scheduled to return to Thailand on the 15th of September. Lord willing, her visa will be processed tomorrow. She will be here in Fort Worth for a few days before she heads to Thailand. We stand amazed how God has allowed folks to give of themselves to work alongside us over the years. We are also not forgetful of the churches which stand behind these volunteers and of course our supporters. Thank you!

Gaudet Family Update – 14th July 2012

August 3 | Posted by Tom Gaudet | Gaudet Family Updates Tags:
Dear Intercessors,

Greetings from Thailand! We feel it needful to update you and ask intercession in several matters. We just sent the files for the Urdu John/Romans to brethren in the USA. 200,000 copies are being printed as this is written. It is such an incredible joy to see the Word of God go forth in this manner. These two books were pushed through to meet a window of opportunity for distribution. Please pray concerning this and continue to pray about the rest of the New Testament as it is completed.

We have not yet distributed the last container of materials in Burmese. We felt it necessary to assess the needs ourselves first. A container of Bibles and portions represent a huge investment of God’s money and must not be wasted.

To facilitate that, a trip is planned later this month to coincide with visitors from the USA arriving. Please be much in prayer concerning this trip. Visas need to be obtained, meetings lined up and the right information needs to be found while there. We will also be addressing the need for Scripture in the S’gaw Karen language as well as starting another printing inside the country.

At that point we should be able to sort out how the materials need to be distributed. This really needs to be done before September. We will know more after this trip, but it does look like we will be $3-4,000 short of necessary funds for the distribution. Please pray. God knows the needs.

All this is going on as we wind down the last weeks before Krinny and I leave for the USA. We are also finalizing our schedule for the three months in the USA as well as preparing things here so that our co-workers are not hindered in their work during our absence. A lot remains to be done. We recently had a new server installed on the office network and are still sorting out some bugs in that system.

We just received the news that Carolyn Chambers is planning to return shortly after we leave for the USA! No exact date has been set but we are thrilled and so very thankful for her Church standing behind her and ministering to our needs in this manner. It is a real sacrifice for them.

Please keep this work and our co-workers in prayer. We dare not attempt what we do without intercession. Thank you in Jesus’ Name!

Tom and Krinny Gaudet

Gaudet Family Update – Overdue Shipment

May 29 | Posted by Tom Gaudet | Gaudet Family Updates Tags:

Brethren,
We are still awaiting definitive word on the incoming 40′ container shipment. At this point it is nearly one month overdue. The last word we had was it was to be in Thailand on last Friday. Honestly, we have never had a shipment delayed this long and with this little solid information. It is a definite concern.

Please keep on praying and we will let you know when we have more information. We would certainly not want to attempt this work in this region without your intercession. Please do not stop!

For Souls Still Waiting,
Tom and Krinny Gaudet

Gaudet Family Update – Awaiting Container Shipment

May 14 | Posted by Tom Gaudet | Gaudet Family Updates Tags:

Dear Intercessors,

Please pray about the incoming 40′ container shipment. It was due in Thailand on the 4th of May, but we have not yet received confirmation of its arrival. I would expect what will happen is we will get a call saying it has cleared customs and will be delivered the next day. Please pray that all works out as we are a half day drive from where it will unload. A vehicle will need to be rented and I will head there with one of our co-workers as soon as we get this info.

The trip to Burma mentioned in an earlier update did not work out but it still needs to happen sooner than later. Please pray about these scheduling issues.

I would like to update you on each of the projects ongoing now, but it is not expedient in this format. Suffice it to say it is “full steam ahead” on several fronts. You will never know what it means to us to know that many are interceding as we go forward. Thank you!

For Souls Still Waiting,
Tom and Krinny Gaudet
